Historic Charmer: Updated Historic Gem Near Downtown with Private Yard

Bed Sizes: King (1) • Queen (1) • Twin (2)
Property Highlights: Historic • Sunroom • Walkable to Downtown • Private Backyard

Historic charm meets modern updates in this downtown Wilmington beauty, located just down the street from the Historic District and Riverwalk, where you'll find galleries, restaurants, and local shops to explore. Looking for a beach day? Wrightsville Beach is only about eight miles east for an easy coastal escape.

At home, start your morning with coffee and wind down in the evening with a cocktail at the patio table tucked into your private backyard retreat.

Inside, the home has been thoughtfully updated while preserving its original character, featuring beautiful hardwood floors, crown molding, and exposed brick accents in the kitchen. The bright, modern kitchen is perfect for gathering, complete with stainless steel appliances, sleek countertops, and a butcher block island. The kitchen flows directly into the dining room, while the inviting sunroom—with three walls of windows—offers another cozy spot to enjoy meals or morning coffee.

After a day exploring downtown museums, shopping, dining, or relaxing at the beach, return home to unwind in the comfort of central AC. Stream your favorite shows, catch up on remote work at the dedicated desk space, then settle into one of four well-appointed bedrooms for the night.

Tomorrow brings another day of adventure—or simply another relaxing day by the water.

I've stayed in other Airbnbs in the same neighborhood before and did not feel secure. However, because this house is surrounded by businesses, we felt very secure. It is hard to find the entrance to the house using the street address and GPS. Entrance location information was not included in the check in instructions. Private parking is very limited but street parking is available very nearby. The house is very old but they've done a good job of keeping the inside looking good. One minor problem is that many internal doors do not open and close easily. The house sleeps 6, but because all rooms are so big, it was easy to entertain visiting family members. It was nice that both the front and back yards are fenced. All beds are very comfortable. It was nice to have two separate thermostats - one for upstairs (where all the bedrooms are) and one for downstairs.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic home. The location is fantastic, close to everything. The house was spotless, very comfortable, and full of charm. The beds were incredibly cozy and everyone slept great. The photos honestly don't do it justice. It’s even more stunning in person. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Stay
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful historic home in Wilmington. The house is much bigger than it looks in the photos—truly, the pictures don’t do it justice. It's spacious, immaculately clean, and full of charm and character. You can really feel the history, but with all the modern comforts you'd want for a relaxing getaway. It was the perfect spot for our group to unwind and enjoy some time together. We would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Charming with so much character
We stayed here for the Ironman 70.3 and for that purpose the location was perfect. It’s definitely walkable to several fun places in the soda pop district and even downtown! The house is gorgeous and has so much character and so much space. The yard is fully fenced and even though we didn’t bring our dog, he would have been so happy here. The only reason I didn’t give our stay 5 stars is because the road noise is SO loud. It sounded like every window was open and getting restful sleep was impossible.

Thank you for your feedback, Andrea. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the location and found our home to be gorgeous and spacious. It's great to know that the fenced yard would have been perfect for your dog as well. We sincerely apologize for the road noise you experienced during your stay. We understand how important a restful night's sleep is. Your comments are valuable, and we will certainly look into this issue to see how we can improve the experience for future guests. Thank you once again for your review, and we hope to host you in the future.

Beautiful Home and Area
Loved the house and location but not the cleanliness. Loved that across the street to a wonderful breakfast/lunch diner.

Yvette, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. However, we apologize that the cleaning of the property left something to be desired. Rest assured, we have taken your comments seriously and have addressed the matter with our cleaning crew to ensure this is an isolated incident. We hope we can have another chance to impress you on a future stay.

Plenty of room inside. Kitchen has the essentials. Internet access was either super-slow or completely non-existent. Nice central location in town. Glad the house has it's own alley parking. I would stay here again if we came back to Wilmington.
